Object to 80 Houses in New Lane, Green Hammerton

posted 21 Mar 2018, 08:16 by KGHG Admin   [ updated 23 Mar 2018, 08:01 ]
Please 'Share' this and write NOW - deadline this Friday, 23rd March to object to an application to build 80 new houses on New Lane in Green Hammerton - see this photo of the field Loxley Homes want to build on - quote reference: 17/01446/OUTMAJ

Or write by post to Harrogate Borough Council, Planning Department, Civic Centre, St Luke's Mount, Harrogate, HG1 2AE

Grounds to object include:

• Irreversible destruction of the character of the village and catastrophic visual impact
• Poor access
• It will create a potential 160+ additional vehicles driving through a small village, including past our village school where small children cross the road so potentially hazardous
• Yet more traffic will filter onto an already chaotic A59 which struggles to cope with existing traffic
• The village of Green Hammerton has limited infrastructure with an over-subscribed school and busy doctors’ surgery. We don’t even have gas and have to rely on oil
• There are no local jobs so this will create even more commuters causing yet more pollution
• These new houses will have a considerable negative impact on our small, close rural community and ancient village and heritage that has two developments already under construction even without the potential 3000 new house settlement

Thank you.
